Deck the Halls!

Though this time of year is the busiest time of year for a photographer, I managed to un-plant myself from my computer chair to do one of my most favorite activities – I decorated my house for Christmas! And I listened to Christmas music on vinyl [then watched Elf.  I only have 2 Christmas records, and that didn’t last long enough, as I’m a perfectionist and really slow at putting everything up].  I changed a few things this year, and I think it’s my favorite iteration so far [here’s last year‘s for reference, and 2011]  My color palate is more refined, and I added in elements that make it seem vintage and cozy [oh yeah, I’m a Christmas nerd.  you didn’t know that?]

I added in my growing collection of brass knick-knacks with mercury glass and my favorite silver ornaments.  Had you told me a few years ago that I’d mix silver and gold tones – TOGETHER – I would have blinked at you for about a minute and a half then laughed in your face.  But here we are, and I loooove it.

Oh, Sadie :)

this is the first year I’ve ever put up lights around this window – WHY have I never done it before?!  turns out I really really like it :)

I hope everyone is trying to take some time during this extra crazy month to enjoy the beauty that happens this time of year.

Happy Holidays!
